Homeschool & School Sessions

Taking Root serves local schools and homeschool families through nature-based, trauma-informed learning experiences that support the whole child—mind, body, and nervous system.

We offer homeschool group sessions rooted in Nature & Nurture, including:

  • Movement & Yoga Series

  • Nature & Mindfulness Series

All programs provide a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment for hands-on learning, mindfulness practices, and meaningful time immersed in nature. Students engage in breathing exercises, meditation, social-emotional skill building, yoga, and guided nature walks receiving the restorative benefits that the natural world has to offer.

Participants gain practical tools to support nervous system regulation, emotional resilience, self-awareness, and connection to themselves and others.

These offerings are especially supportive for students who may experience anxiety, depression, high stress levels, hyperactivity, a history of trauma, or who are seeking deeper connection and confidence. Mindfulness practices play a vital role in social-emotional wellbeing and academic success.

6-Week Virtual self-guided Nature and Mindfulness Wellness Series

Looking for your student to gain tools to build resilience in the areas of self-confidence, body awareness, self-regulation, self-control, regulate nervous system & reduce stress and anxiety?

We will learn a different mindfulness technique every week and be given a new mindfulness task to do on your own!

We know that not one size fits all. We explore a different technique every week to help you foster a mindfulness practice that works best for YOU!

Students will leave feeling a stronger sense of self-confidence, compassion for themselves and others, and with mindfulness tools used to help regulate their emotions.

Nature and Mindfulness activities include:
