Before transitioning to education, Kaitlin worked as a Wetland Scientist for an environmental consulting firm. She also worked as a Naturalist at the Seacoast Science Center and was awarded a grant from the Clipper Foundation in 2019 to build an Outdoor Learning Classroom at Portsmouth Middle School.

Kaitlin earned her 200-hour yoga teacher certification in 2017 and has continued her training in yoga and mindfulness for youth and trauma, including Unstoppable Baptiste Yoga for Youth. She currently teaches yoga four times a week at a studio in Hampton, NH.

After six years teaching 7th grade science in a public school, Kaitlin transitioned to teaching science online for grades 6–8 through the Virtual Learning Academy Charter School (VLACS). She also leads mindfulness and outdoor enrichment courses, where she thrives in one-on-one and small-group settings.

Kaitlin believes Taking Root Education is the perfect intersection of her two worlds—environmental education and mindfulness. She is passionate about the healing power of nature and its ability to reconnect us to ourselves, others, and the earth. Through immersive outdoor experiences, she helps individuals learn to regulate their nervous systems and restore balance in their lives.

Kaitlin lives on the Seacoast of New Hampshire with her husband Collin, their daughter Kallie, and their dog Maverick. In her free time, she enjoys hiking, camping, paddle boarding, surfing, and snowboarding with her family and friends. She is deeply committed to nurturing earth stewardship and sharing mindfulness practices with learners of all ages.
