4- Week Mindfulness in Nature Teen Wellness Series

Fall 2022

October 6 - October 27 | Thursday’s for 4 weeks 

(sessions will run continuously on a 4-week rotation throughout the year) 

Taking Root offers a Nature Based and Social Emotional Learning enrichment. In these sessions students will gain tools to build resilience in the areas of self-confidence, body awareness, self-regulation, self-control, regulate nervous system & reduce stress and anxiety. Sessions will include discussions on how to apply what they learn to help students at home, school, and with friends. Students will leave feeling a stronger sense of self-confidence, compassion for themselves and others, and with tools used to help regulate their emotions.

 

Nature and Mindfulness activities include:

  • Breathing Exercises

  • Guided Meditations

  • Journaling

  • Yoga

  • Nature Activities

  • Nature Walks 

  • Community connection 

Sessions will consist mainly outside receiving the natural benefits nature has to offer. Nature enhances social interactions, value for community, and close relationships. 

What to bring: Students should bring their own yoga mat, reusable water bottle, comfortable clothes, and shoes for walking in the woods to class.

 

Dates/Time:

3:30-4:30 (Grades 6-8) 

4:40-5:40 (Grades 9-12)

Location:

Community Campus, 100 Campus Drive, Portsmouth, NH

Minimum: 5 students

Maximum: 10 students 

Session Fee: $175 per participant for a 4-week session.
